 The first album I ever owned was given to me as a gift to play on the "boombox" that I had gotten for Christmas, and it was Loverboy's first album.  And at that time, I had no idea who Loverboy was, but quickly became a fan.  The first album I actually bought for myself was Pat Benatar "In the Heat of the Night".
